Change of Officers

Print

Following the NELPG AGM, our Chairman, John Hunt, wrote to all other directors of the company stating his wish to relinquish his role as Chairman of the NELPG.

So, at its first meeting following the AGM, the Committee had a larger task than usual electing officers. The Officers are now, or at least will be after Companies House formalities are completed:

Chairman Chris Lawson
Secretary Roy Marshall
Treasurer Richard Wheeler

The Committee decided not to appoint a Vice Chairman but to leave the chairing of committee meetings to those present when Chris Lawson is away.

John Hunt has agreed to continue with his other roles, most visibly: Director/Trustee, Newsletter Editor and Jacobite organiser.

John was elected Chairman by the Committee after the 1998 AGM, and has served the company in that role for 20 years. During these post railway privatisation years, John has guided the NELPG through Blue Peter's Indian summer, the end of our stay in No.5 Depot at ICI Wilton, our move to Hopetown, our involvement with the Jacobite, and of course the 50th anniversary. We have so much to thank him for, and look forward to his future contribution to the NELPG.
